Thirteen (13) business units, all apart of the same company, were storing learning content in various places. The total count included 22 different on-premise servers, 3rd party hosted clouds,  and internal network locations. As a functional global business leader, my role was to:

  • build a global team of Content Cybrarians (North America, Europe, China, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, & India) to support the global change management (knowledge management professionals)
  • assess the landscape and perform a cost benefit analysis for the parent businesses
  • understand what each P&L needed from a functionality perspective
  • liaise with the selected cloud partner
  • choose the right cloud provider, based upon content being stored and security/data classification needs
  • rally content owners of learning/knowledge content which was spread across 12 regions (in multiple languages)
  • plan/implement a global content migration
  • move the existing 126,000+ knowledge articles

  • setup new Center of Excellence (knowledge as a shared service)
  • outline governance program for ongoing growth and scalability
  • monitor for quality and iterate the solution as per user/business needs
