Professional Recommendations

I found WandaJean as she was attached to a product business leadership wans looking into. As an IT tech, I was unfamiliar with the product so we brought her in to discuss possible uses some leadership needs. She took the time to present the Smartsheet product to leadership to fulfill the requirements the leader inquired about. She gave necessary details and great examples to make things clear. WandaJean was positive, upbeat, fun, and professional in her explanations, showing how the real world product could work for the needs of the customer. I would expect her to be as enthusiastic in all she does. She was the right person for the job!

I worked with WandaJean at GE Global Operations where she proved to be a jack of all trades. With an ever positive attitude and go-getter spirit, she executed dutifully on all her deliverables, led a team of program management professionals, and quickly established herself and brand in a start-up environment. In a short period of time, she was selected to leadership roles for important company initiatives such as leading the Cincinnati Global Operations effort for March of Dimes philanthropic campaign, the African American Forum ERG, and held various leadership roles with the Veterans ERG. In addition, her adaptability has led her to fit seamlessly in many functions and environments- technically, culturally and geographically. As an Human Capitalist and Assessor of Talent, I get excited when I meet someone with program management, technology, process improvement, documentation/training, and facilitation skills coupled with intellectual curiosity, empathy, leadership abilities, and the ability to tell hilarious jokes. This sums up WandaJean in a nutshell.

Throughout the past year, WandaJean Jones has taken time out of her busy schedule to provide insight and support to Lindner Women in Business (LWiB). LWiB is a Carl H. Lindner College of Business Diversity and Inclusion Program that focuses on instilling passion and skills in collegiate women to help them achieve their goals. WandaJean charismatically shared stories from her career journey and offered valuable advice to LWiB members during our Alumni Panel in the fall. Additionally, on March 3rd, 2018, she presented on how to build your internal board of directors at our second annual leadership conference. WandaJean has the capability and confidence to fill any room with her wisdom and contagious energy. Lindner Women in Business is lucky to have her as a mentor!

Adrian Perez, GE LATAM

WandaJean is a knowledgeable, inspiring, visionary leader who understands customer needs and exceeding customer expectations. I first met WandaJean when I worked as the Senior HR Leader for the Global Finance, Legal and Business Development teams at GE Aviation, a $25B world-leading provider of commercial, military and business and general aviation jet and turboprop engines and components as well as avionics, electrical power and mechanical systems for aircraft, operating in over 100 countries with 45,000 employees. She presented to the Aviation CFO and his staff (which I was a part of) about a new technology she was the expert in that we were considering using for a large scale global finance simplification project. The technology was critical to our ability to seamlessly transition finance work from one employee to another often in a different location. She was able to skillfully walk the leadership team through what the technology was, how it worked, the benefits, challenges, the impact data, the rollout plan and her recommendation that we adopt it. She fielded tons of tough questions from a somewhat skeptical audience with ease and great insight. Based on her presentation and subsequent follow-up with the key stakeholders, we adopted the technology not only in that instance, but also was able to use it with multiple other teams across multiple different GE businesses.
WandaJean understands change management and designs creative cultural activation plans through the lens of the customer. She innovative and is always thinking “what’s next”. She doesn’t wait for the ideas to just land in her lap…she invents, tests, pivots and engages the team in transformative solutions.
WandaJean is a “giver” and with the most positive, upbeat and engaging attitude. She has been a huge champion and leader of diversity and inclusion and has coached and mentored countless employees. Her desire to ensure ALL people feel they belong & are valued are demonstrated by her actions and high say-do ratio. She understands the power of connection and her infectious enthusiasm are a key part of her personal brand.

I like to joke that WandaJean was my first friend at GE. I met in her in my first weeks at Global Operations when I had to get up to speed quickly on some GE systems and tools. Coming into GE as an outsider, I was starting at absolute zero. WandaJean has a remarkable ability to explain technical material clearly and simply, in a way that the material can be easily understood and retained. It is obvious that she is energized by by the technology she works with, and enjoys sharing the ways that it can be used to improve work quality and productivity. Her enthusiasm is contagious!

As an active member of Lindner Women in Business, I was able to attend an informational session by WandaJean Jones at the Empowerment Day Leadership Conference. I have met very few people who can successfully speak with confidence, humor, and charisma. WandaJean, with obvious experience, effortlessly combined these elements in her messages, which made conversations with her easy and light-hearted. I was thrilled by her amazing, positive attitude and her ability to provide valuable insights during her interactive session. As a speaker and a motivator, WandaJean Jones holds my highest recommendation.

WandaJean Jones is a delightful human who brings high impact, interaction, and engagement with other teams as a culture cultivator, and with creativity! She has the power to drive behavior change with her positive, respectful coordination.

Though our specific collaboration period was short term, the lessons were valuable and I continue to reference her teachings to this day.

WandaJean has been a strong supporter of one of my favorite organizations at UC, Lindner Women in Business. Not only did she participate in a wonderful panel of alumni, but also spoke in one of our breakout sessions at the Empowerment Day Conference. We are extremely lucky to have her in our network and look forward to working                               with her in the future!

Kirsten Lucas, University of Cincinnati Lindner Women in Business

WandaJean is one of GE’s most valuable assets. She is a joy to be around and is so full of knowledge. Not only does she learn her job completely, but then she works outside of her silo to learn everything else she can. Then she takes that knowledge and passes it onto others. WandaJean posses the unique tech-teaching skills that so many companies look for. She can quickly learn different pieces of technology and then turn around and teach others that technology piece in a way they can easily understand. She is also a strong leader, able to get others to step up and see what they might not have been able to before. Finally, she is incredibly creative in her teaching approaches. She has created ideas in the GE center to get others learning, such as a Pearls of Wisdom conference, marketing the wearing of pearls for women to come learn about a new piece of technology developed by GE called Predix. She is always very positive and upbeat and makes a personal connection with everyone she meets, making them feel valued and appreciated.

Amanda Szarmack, GE

WandaJean has an undeniable enthusiasm for sharing the knowledge that she has to provide solutions to others that add value to their day to day work life. She has lead tech teaching workshops as part of the Women’s Network which is above and beyond her normal workload. She communicates in an effective and creative way in order to gain excitement around tools.

Ridiculously efficient and thinks outside the box” is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about WandaJean. I had the pleasure of working with WandaJean for two years at General Electric Company. I was always in awe of WandaJean’s ability to command a room during team meetings and company events. Her ability to juggle multiple projects and delivery of great ideas was unlike any I’ve seen before and made a dramatic difference in the productivity level of our team. As a team member or a leader, WandaJean earns my highest recommendation.

Kia Birchfield, GE

I first met WandaJean when she spoke to Lindner Women in Business at the University of Cincinnati. She answered any questions I and other women had about life beyond college as a women in business. WandaJean then spoke again at the Lindner Women in Business Empowerment Day Conference where she spoke about building your own internal board of directors. WandaJean is an excellent speaker who makes everything fun and engaging. WandaJean will give you the honest truth no matter if it is good or bad. I think that is what I like most about her. She is the real deal and will lead you to success and give you helpful tips. WandaJean’s is very engaging and is someone that you WANT to hear more from. She is someone you can look up to as a mentor. She has motivated me to continue to improve upon my skills in business and become a successful woman in business just like her!

One thing that makes WandaJean stand out is her enthusiasm. When I gave her coding (HTML) assignments other people would find dull, she managed to spin them into an interesting and creative proposal. Her posts across our social media platforms generate a valuable source of relevant information all time.

I was looking for assistance with an application that I had not used. I was waiting for an opportunity to attend the training course provided by the organization but was trying to work with the application (Smartsheet) already. Then I met WandaJean. I asked a simple question, then another simple question, then I scheduled a meeting, then I scheduled another meeting. Because WandaJean was so kind in her wiliness to help and (more importantly) so capable of understanding my challenges, I am up and running on the application (Smartsheet). BTW – I still have not taken the designed training course and don’t need to! WandaJean is one of the most professional and knowledgeable people I have met. I look forward to – and intend to – keep working with WandaJean for as long as she’ll let me.
