GE was seeking to build solutions to reduce complexity in the company’s processes, systems, and structures. The initiative was called ” Global Operations Enterprise Standards”. Partnering with the GE businesses, we aligned employees globally who work on our key finance, transactional, and compliance processes into one team to accomplish our mission:

  1. Create leaner processes that improve cost, quality, and speed
  2. Drive simplification
  3. Build and operate world-class processes for all P&Ls

As the Knowledge Management Leader, I defined the standards and then helped Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) understand the steps to document their processes accordingly. This process also played nicely into the company’s business continuity plans and audit best practices. My global team created and maintained a web portal which outlined all process maps, people responsibilities, data connections, and business information points.
